Simona Stolnicu is a distinguished medical professional and Professor of Pathology at the George Emil Palade University of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Technology in Targu Mures, Romania. She has established an international reputation for her expertise in gynecological and breast pathology, particularly focusing on the diagnosis and management of cervical cancer. In addition to her academic role, she manages the Histopat-Invest laboratory in Targu Mures and leads a research lab focused on cervical carcinomas and the significant role of human papillomavirus (HPV) status in tumor classification.Â
Throughout her career, Dr. Stolnicu has held major leadership positions, including serving as the Chair and later the Past-Chair of the Gynecological Pathology Working Group for the European Society of Pathology. She is an Officer-at-Large on the Board Committee of the International Society of Gynecological Pathologists and a member of the expert panel for the International Collaboration on Cancer Reporting. Her professional training includes extensive subspecialty experience as an observer at the MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in the United States.
