After growing up in Wheaton, Illinois, I went to Washington University in St. Louis for college where I studied chemistry and mathematics. I then completed a combined MD/PhD program at the Medical College of Wisconsin. While in Milwaukee, my graduate research focused on the biophysical and biochemical basis for interactions between epigenetic regulatory proteins and chromatin. In beginning my residency in anatomic and clinical pathology, I am excited engage in the outstanding training program and multidisciplinary research environment offered by the University of Michigan. Ultimately, I plan to purse an academic career related to molecular genetic pathology while continuing to engage in basic to translational research. Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, cooking, reading, watching movies and working on programming projects.
