Dr. David Byron Chapel, MD, is a board-certified pathologist and Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Michigan Health in Ann Arbor. He specializes in the tissue-based diagnosis and classification of cancer, maintaining focused clinical expertise in mesothelioma and the cancers or pre-cancers of the female genital tract. Within his practice, he performs a variety of diagnostic procedures including tissue biopsies and molecular testing to assist in disease management, and he frequently provides intraoperative “frozen section” diagnoses to guide surgical care.
