Dr. Eun-Young Karen Choi, MD, is a Clinical Associate Professor specializing in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Michigan Health. Based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, her clinical practice is dedicated to the subspecialty of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary, and pancreatic pathology. In this role, she performs microscopic evaluations of tissue biopsies and surgical specimens to diagnose complex diseases of the digestive tract, liver, and pancreas. Beyond her diagnostic workload at the University Hospital, she serves as the pathology representative for the Rogel Cancer Center’s Cancer Work Group, which collaborates with the Cancer Registry to maintain institutional accreditation.Â
Dr. Choi is deeply rooted in the University of Michigan system, having earned her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School in 2010. She remained at the institution to complete both her residency training in pathology in 2014 and her subsequent specialized fellowship training. As an academic faculty member, she balances a high-volume clinical service with medical education, frequently teaching gastrointestinal pathology laboratories to medical students and mentoring residents and fellows on the frozen section and gastrointestinal pathology services.Â
